Terms of Service

1. General

These Terms of Service govern your use of the Edge & Son website and the purchase of products from us. By placing an order, you agree to be bound by these terms. We reserve the right to update these terms at any time.

2. Products & Pricing

All prices on our website are in GBP. Food is zero-rated for VAT; masterclasses include VAT. Many items, particularly Christmas joints, are cut to weight and are marked as such; for these the price shown is a deposit rather than the full price, and the balance is calculated once the item has been cut and weighed. Other items are sold in set pack sizes and hand-prepared to the stated weight, and for these the price shown is the price you pay. As we deal with fresh produce, natural variation in shape and thickness may occur. We reserve the right to change prices at any time without prior notice.

3. Orders & Payment

When you place an order, you are making an offer to purchase. We will confirm acceptance of your order by email. Payment is taken by card at the checkout when you place your order.

Where an item is cut to weight, the amount taken at the checkout is a deposit, not the full price. The balance is calculated when we cut and weigh the item and is paid at the counter when you collect, or before collection if you ask us for a payment link. If the item comes to less than the deposit, we refund the difference when you collect. Your order confirmation shows which items are deposits. Deposits secure your order. A Christmas deposit is refundable if you cancel before 1 December; after that it is non-refundable. We will always try to help if your circumstances change, so please call us rather than assume.

4. Collection

Orders placed this Christmas are collection only — we are not delivering. You choose your collection point and collection day when you order, and both are recorded on your order. Our collection points are New Ferry, Delifonseca, Brimstage Courtyard, and collection days are Monday 21 December, 8am – 5pm; Tuesday 22 December, 8am – 5pm; Wednesday 23 December, 8am – 5pm; Thursday 24 December, 8am – 1pm. Please collect on the day you selected: our Christmas chillers are full and we cannot hold orders beyond it. Full details are on our Christmas Orders page.

5. Returns & Refunds

Due to the perishable nature of our products, we cannot accept returns. However, if there is anything wrong with your order, please tell us within 24 hours of collecting it, or of it being delivered where delivery applies, and we will arrange a replacement or a refund. Photographs help, but please raise it with us either way.

6. Cancellations

To cancel an order, please contact us as soon as you can, and by 5pm on the day before your chosen collection or delivery day. After that your order has been cut for you and we cannot cancel it.

Christmas orders are different. You can cancel a Christmas order and have your deposit back up to 1 December; after that the deposit is non-refundable, because the work is being planned and cut around it. Online Christmas ordering itself closes later, on Monday 14 December. If something changes, please ring us on 0151 645 3044 rather than assume — we would always rather hear from you.

Fresh food that is cut or prepared to your order is exempt from the cancellation rights in the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. This does not affect your rights if something we supply is faulty, incorrectly described, or not of satisfactory quality.

7. Allergens & Dietary Information

Our products may contain or come into contact with common allergens. If you have specific dietary requirements or allergies, please contact us prior to ordering. While we take every precaution, we cannot guarantee a completely allergen-free environment.

8. Intellectual Property

All content on this website, including text, images, logos, and design, is the property of Edge & Son Butchers and is protected by copyright law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any content without our prior written permission.

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by English law. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
